Chandeliers and Flowers in Baltimore

Photographer Laura Skayhan's childhood home serves as the backdrop of many of her unique photographs and portraits. On a recent trip to Baltimore, I had the opportunity to photograph her family home which is filled with incredible floral wallpaper prints and chandeliers. I am a huge fan of florals in general, and the Skayhan home serves as a perfect backdrop for not only photos, but an elegant everyday life. Ironically, I have a photo of Laura's mother hanging above my bed in the striped hallway. It was so nice to visit the site in person.
If you would like to see some of Laura's photos in this home, follow the link below or refer to my recent June post Photographer: Laura Skayhan.

Shop: Petrie Sofa

I stopped into Crate and Barrel this weekend, and I came across the perfect sofa--and it is well priced. The 1960's-inspired piece is available in 13 colors, so you have plenty of options. If you are in the market for a sofa...this could be it. This shape is available in as a love seat as well.

Eat: Momofuku Milk Bar

Between Momofuku Ko, Ssam Bar, Noodle Bar and Bakery-Milk Bar, chef and owner David Chang is slowly taking over as the most innovative, original and talented radical chefs in New York. Strange, cheap, interesting food is what makes David's taste memorable. For those of you who live in New York--and those of you who do not--you must stop into Milk Bar when you are ready for a quick bite, dessert or are in need of a perfect host/hostess gift. The Compost Cookies, Pork Buns (with an egg on top) and Crack Pie are once in a life time experiences, all of which you can experience standing at the bar. And did I forget to mention Sweet and Sour Gummy soft-serve? A dozen Compost, Corflake/Marshmellow/Chocolate Chip or Bluberry Cream cookies are the perfect gift for the person who has everthing. Milk Bar is connected to Chang's Ssam bar, so Ssam for dinner/Milk Bar for dessert? What are your favorite Chang menu items?
