B-4 it was cool is a hidden Nolita treasure. I couldn't believe that I just discovered it today on my daily walk home. The rustic entrance and haphazard display engulfs you immediately. The store is filled with antique light fixtures, stools, fans and other various antiques ranging from the beginning to mid-century. While the store focuses on lighting, the emphasis is the general aesthetic of a time when man's interest in Science and Industry was at its peak. As the website claims, "A time when the Engineer, the Machinist and the Stylist were the same man and the end product reflected the fact."
