Two Must Stops in New York are John Derian's two shops, just South of the Bowery Hotel, on East 2nd Street. Visit both John Derain Company and John Derian Dry Goods--just a few steps away from each other--for decoupage trays, paperweights, antiques, Astier de Villatte, Hugo Guinness prints, Moroccan Poufs and Geraldine Gonzalez candles. It is always a Saturday stop for me, and a wonderful resource for tough gifts or personal indulgences.
